Cascade Landscape Hotel

Architect: Geoffrey April

Project Type: Hospitality

Project Location: Eastonville, WA

Set within an old-growth forest in Eastonville, Washington, the Cascade Landscape Hotel explores a simple idea: place quiet, intentional structures within a profoundly beautiful landscape, and allow the environment to take precedence.

The site is defined by towering Douglas firs and a creek that moves through the property, creating a setting that feels both immersive and timeless. The architecture responds with restraint—anchored by a central A-frame lodge positioned along the water, serving as the primary gathering and check-in space.

Scattered throughout the forest, a collection of small-scale cabins—derived from A-frame, shed, and cubic forms—are carefully placed among the trees. Each unit is conceived as a minimal retreat, with a compact living space, sleeping area, and integrated bath and kitchenette. A single full-height pane of glass frames the landscape, allowing the forest to become the primary interior experience.

The project is designed as an analog retreat—a place to disconnect from devices and reconnect with surroundings, community, and routine. Shared amenities, including a sauna and common gathering spaces, encourage interaction while maintaining a sense of solitude.

The result is a modern forest hotel in Washington—quiet, immersive, and deeply connected to place.
