Dundee Hills

Set on a 25-acre vineyard in the Red Hills of Dundee, this project transforms an existing residence into a refined, contemporary home designed for a large family—expanding both its capacity and its connection to the surrounding landscape.

The renovation introduces a new fully glazed main living space and a primary suite addition, opening the home to sweeping views in all directions. To the west, rolling vineyard hills unfold; to the south, the property descends into the valley; and to the east, the Cascade Range and Mount Jefferson emerge on clear days. The vineyard itself is ever-present—immediately outside the home, shaping daily life and experience.

The program was carefully reconfigured to support long-term living. A former garage is converted into two private en suites and a gym, while the upper level is expanded to include additional bedrooms—resulting in a five-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bath residence.

Materially, the home is both grounded and elevated. The exterior is re-clad in thermally modified ash, replacing the original corrugated steel with a warmer, more enduring expression. Inside, heated concrete floors, walnut cabinetry, and basalt tile establish a rich, tactile palette, complemented by a chef’s kitchen and refined, comfortable interiors.

The result is a modern vineyard home in Oregon’s Willamette Valley—designed to feel immersive, expansive, and deeply connected to the land..
